We Amuse Myself

But I felt compelled to write after reading this article: "Former Power Ranger Actor Sentenced to Death". I remember first hearing about this, and hearing that the perp, Skylar Deleon, was one of the original Red Rangers. Which made me really sad because the Red Ranger was always my favorite and I was a total Power Rangers geek back in the day. I remember walking over to my friend's house on the weekend when I was like 7 or something and we'd watch the show in this big room with lots of pillows and windows so it was really bright and comfortable.

It's always a shame when perfectly good childhood memories like that get tainted.

So I figured I'd look up this Skylar Deleon on Wikipedia and see exactly which Red Ranger he was, because he didn't look like either of the Red Ranger's on the show when I watched it. But then I was redirected to the page "Murder of Thomas and Jackie Hawks", which was odd since even the most D-list celebrities have Wikipedia pages now-a-days. But that was when I found out he wasn't the Red Ranger but rather a character in one episode, so I didn't feel as bad after that.

But apparently his dad was a convicted drug dealer, which made me feel a little sorry for him since that can't be easy to live with. But then I felt less sorry when I read that he bound and gagged the couple he was accused of killing and throwing them overboard tied to an anchor. And then he hired a guy to kill his uncle and cousin who had helped him murder some other guy.

So yeah. Now the taint is less strong, but it's still present. Curse the taint...
